Handy Links

These are the sites that I purchased parts from, found advice, or found useful during this project.

Yoshi's Forums

http://www.yoshi.us/forums/showthread.php?t=15026 The original work log for this project. Also a great place for computer help and modding.

Build Your Own Arcade Controls FAQ

http://arcadecontrols.com/arcade.htm A great place to start. Lots of information on control panel layout, system design, and software. Gallery of projects helps give ideas as to what is possible in the world of MAME.

Cabinet Diagram and Measurements

http://underworld.fortunecity.com/fifa/294/diagram.html Diagrams and measurements I used.

Happ Controls

http://www.happcontrols.com/ Lots of parts for arcade machines. Watch out for some of their cheaper joysticks, you can really tell a difference in quality. The next machine I build, I will get joysticks and pushbuttons from Ultimarc.

Ultimarc

http://www.ultimarc.com/ Home of the I-PAC keyboard interface. Great parts, great quality, great prices, thumbs up all the way around.

Fry's Electronics/NewEgg.com

http://www.outpost.com/ | http://www.newegg.com/ Fry's Electronics is a great place for computer parts. Their website is fine, but if you can get to a store, GO! If you're dead-set on ordering computer parts online, I heartily recommend NewEgg.com. NewEgg.com has fast shipping and good prices.

MAME - The Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator

http://www.mame.net/ Where would we be without MAME? This site features tons of information; everything from the programming side of the emulator to tweaking it to get the best out of games.

Geoshock fastMAME

http://www.geoshock.com/ Home of fastMAME, and optomized version of MAME designed to run certain games at full speed.

AtomicFE Front End

http://www.atomicfe.com/EN2/ A beautiful graphical front end for MAME and it's derivatives. Designed to be driven by joysticks and pushbuttons, this front end adds a wonderful interface for non-dedicated machines.

ArcadeOS Front End

http://www.mameworld.net/pc2jamma/frontend.html A strong DOS front end for MAME. A little difficult to set up and get used to, but highly customizable.
